This piece was inspired by the bold women facing prejudice across western nations for their choice to keep their hijab on, and the brave women currently facing cruelty in Islamic nations for their choice to take their hijab off in protest of violence against women. What these two opposing situations have in common is bodily autonomy and how a woman's choice of what to do with her body is often disregarded in the name of culture and religion. When a society values it's rules and tradition more than the well-being of it's people then it has truly lost it's humanity
